Some people still think that Yoko is the one who broke up the band. I personally think it is unfair to blame Yoko for the band's breakup.

Plus, without Yoko, I wouldn't be able to listen to "Real Love" and "Free As A Bird," two of my favorite songs from the Beatles Anthology series. Yoko was the one who sent John's recordings on "Real Love" and "Free As A Bird" to Paul McCartney, and then Paul recorded those two songs together with George and Ringo during the making process of Beatles Anthology series. As well, Yoko was the main inspiration for John Lennon to write "Real Love," my favorite love song within the Anthology series.

I can see why John Lennon loved Yoko, Yoko made John feel happy. Both shows taught a lot things about perseverance and being good human beings. Oshin and 長今 both are my favorite characters because they represent the good sides of their respective cultures, as well both characters are good role models for women and girls.

As for your comments about the problems of Korea and Japan, China also has similar problems with both Korea and Japan although China's problems are heavier than both countries because China is significantly less developed and bigger than both countries. Despite that, I hope all of them could solve their respective problems swiftly soon.

Btw, as for today's posting, I would like to show you different techniques of making lacquerwares from different countries.

This is Korean lacquerware making technique:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43K0CZd1Z08

When I see the video of Korean style lacquerware technique, I could appreciate the artist's talent on making lacquerware and I adore the mother of pearl design on the lacquerware. Even though I find Korean lacquerwares to be not as refined as Japanese lacquerware or not as colorful as Vietnamese lacquerware, but I still appreciate Korean lacquerware especially Korean lacquerware with mother of pearl design.

This is Japanese lacquerware:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnCTEtx4F9A

When I see the video of Japanese style lacquerware technique, I was impressed with the Japanese technique of making lacquerware and I totally adore the refined design of Japanese lacquerware. Japanese lacquerware is one of my most favorite Japanese art.

This is Vietnamese lacquerware:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiuR6h5v4Mc

When I watch the video of Vietnamese lacquerware, I could appreciate the fastidious work of the Vietnamese to make those lacquerwares that I adore. Vietnamese lacquerware, just like Japanese lacquerware, is the most beautiful that I have ever seen. And I was quite impressed by how the way the Vietnamese make those gorgeous lacquer paintings.

This is Chinese lacquerware:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNnNVGEEV8I

When I watch the video of Chinese lacquerware, I could appreciate my own heritage and I also could learn my own culture just by looking at it. I personally think that Han dynasty period Chinese lacquerwares are the best looking so far.

Addition, I would like to tell you the brief story of lacquerware in China.

Lacquerware was started in China in the 5th century from Shaanxi area of China. Lacquer is made from the tree sap mixed with resin. Prior to the dynasty period of China, lacquer was used as a polishing for ritual tools because lacquer is very durable and water-resistant. Then, during the Ming dynasty period, lacquer was applied widely in furnitures especially furnitures for the imperial use. Lacquer in China only comes in two colors, black and red, black is the most commonly used color for lacquer while red is used for imperial lacquer. However, the only areas where red colored lacquer is used outside of imperial use are Shaanxi and Fujian where both areas are more liberal for lacquer coloring. Then there is a special technique originated from Shaanxi area of China called "mianjin," "mianjin" technique is the technique of tracing figures from gold and then lacquer is applied on the gold figures as coloring. 顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-3937157514804752402018-05-03T15:49:55.173+09:002018-05-03T15:49:55.173+09:00I agree with your opinion about John Lennon. "Oshin" was broadcast on TV in 1983, so many people watched the drama. At that time I was a junior high school student, I remember clearly that many TV programs (including rival broadcast stations) and magazines picked up the drama and many people talked about it. I haven't ever seen people so fanatic about a TV drama in my lifetime.

大長今 is also popular. As noted above, Korean dramas have many fans in Japan (in particular, women over 40). One of the most famous one is大長今, I think. Actually, my wife loves that drama.
As for me, I know that the dramas are about women of perseverance, strong effort and kindness, but I haven't seen either drama.

My favorite Korean culture is cinema. I think he and Paul McCartney both are very talented songwriters that I admire.

Even though I admire John Lennon but on the same time I couldn't condone his poor treatment towards his first wife, his poor treatment towards his first son, his alcohol abuse, and his drug abuse. Yet on the same time, I couldn't fully blame John himself for his problems when he was alive because according to a biography book about John which was writen by his first wife that I read, the reason why John was a problematic man is because John went through unhappiness as a child. His unhappy childhood life is the main reason why he had behavior problems when he was alive.

As for Yoko Ono, John's later wife, I couldn't say whether I like but I couldn't say that I hate her either. I can see why John was attracted to Yoko, John was attracted to Yoko because to him Yoko stood out as a mother figure that would make John happy. I personally don't hold any grudge towards Yoko and I don't fully blame Yoko for The Beatles breakup because there are also other reasons why the band broke up. And I also could acknowledge the good things that Yoko even did to John such as helped him to write some of his songs and stay loyal to him until the end.

May John rest in peace and may his music live forever.

As for Paul McCartney, I also appreciate him as well, even though I like John more than him. Ringo's singing voice makes the song even funnier.

Savoy Truffle: George's attempt on poking fun at Eric Clapton's chocolate obsession makes me laugh so hard. Plus, the Ob La Di Ob La Da reference on the song makes it even funnier.

Ob La Di Ob La Da: Clever song with playful lyrics, the ska style music added the charm to this song. I don't understand why many people hate this song, I cannot hate this song because it's so catchy.

Yellow Submarine: The most child friendly Beatle song, Ringo's vocal makes this song even funnier. I sometimes like to sing this song when I take shower ahahahahaha.

I Am The Walrus: John's funniest moment ever, I find the nonsense lyrics on the song to be hilarious and John's psychedelic vocal even makes this song funnier. I just cannot help but laughed so hard when I listen to this song.

Piggies: George Harrison is hilarious on this song and the pig-like snort sound effect makes the song even funnier.

顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-27055067230808088372018-04-05T13:33:01.129+09:002018-04-05T13:33:01.129+09:00Nice list, those Beatles songs that you listed are...Nice list, those Beatles songs that you listed are all great.

Then again, although The Beatles created many great songs that I enjoy yet on the same time there are also Beatles songs that I like the least. I hope you won't be offended because I am stating my honest opinion here.

Here are my least favorite Beatles songs and the reasons why I don't like them:

Revolution 9: This song is really creepy, I always cannot sleep in the night because the song really creeps me out. I love John but I have to say John was doing a poor attempt on creating "avant-garde" music on this song.

The Ballad of John and Yoko: This song really irritates me because John strikes me as being too whinny on this song. Although I dislike this song, I still enjoy Paul's drumming there.

Run For Your Life: This song is too harsh, John was venting irrational jealousy on this song.

Got To Get You Into My Life: This song is too poppy and rather vapid, the music also kind of annoys me. Although I dislike this song, I still enjoy Paul's singing voice there.

Maxwell's Silver Hammer: This song really annoys me because I think the song sounds overdone and vapid. I am really sorry to say this, I have to agree with John, Ringo, and George for not liking this song.

The Story of Bungalow Bill: This song annoys me, especially the chorus part.

Sexy Saddie: John Lennon really irritates me on this song, I sometimes find John's cynical tendency to be rather annoying.

顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-16074330750947245022018-04-04T02:28:33.785+09:002018-04-04T02:28:33.785+09:00Then again I also would like to tell you something...Then again I also would like to tell you something that makes me irritated. So please don't be offended because I have no intention to offend you or anyone else here.

I always feel so irritated if anyone dares to say like this, "xxxxx people are ugly, xxxxx people are the best looking." To me, saying that only certain ethnicity is good looking or not good looking is simply unfair. Good looking and not good looking people could be found in any ethnicities, so that's why I dislike people who have bigoted view about people's physical attractiveness.

I admit that I used to be guilty of saying that certain ethnicities are good looking while dissing the other ethnicities as being not good looking. But now, I no longer hold that type of bigoted view, now I realize that good looking and not good looking people could be found in any ethnicities.

Everyone is beautiful to me, as long as they have beautiful personalities as well.
顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-8091725460327260652018-04-03T23:11:40.146+09:002018-04-03T23:11:40.146+09:00And the I also would like to admit about my own mi...And the I also would like to admit about my own mistake in the past. Sorry if you feel offended with me but I am just being honest to you, other people, and myself.

In the past, I used to have bigoted and prejudiced view about the Koreans. I used to underestimate the Koreans and their culture, not just that I also used to mock them secretly in the past.

But now, I realized that my bigoted about the Koreans is really stupid, I also realized on how immature and stupid I am on being prejudiced towards the Koreans and their culture. I now realized that being prejudiced and bigoted towards other nationalities would make me a bad person, now I realize that I am such a bad person by being bigoted and prejudiced towards the Koreans. I regret myself on taking pleasure on mocking on other nationalities and cultures just for the sake of fun, now I realize that mocking of other nationalities and cultures for the sake of fun is really stupid and immature. I believe that anyone would feel insulted and disappointed if other people mock of their nationalities and culture just for the sake of fun. I also would feel insulted and disappointed if anyone would make fun of my nationality and culture just for the sake of fun. Now I have learned my lesson, I won't mocking other nationalities for the sake of fun anymore.

I used to somewhat underestimate Korean products, but now I realize that Koreans could make good quality products as well. I grew to appreciate Korean products as well.

Here are the Korean products that I appreciate.

Korean cars: Korean cars are reliable, affordable, and easy to maintain. Although I think that Japanese cars are slightly higher in quality but I think Korean cars are pretty good in quality as well. I don't have a Korean car but a friend of mine who has a Korean car told me that Korean cars are pretty good in quality, cheap, and reliable. And what my friend told me about Korean cars was true, I noticed that a lot people have very good impression about Korean cars. I congratulate the Koreans for being able to produce good quality cars recently.

Korean cosmetics and skin care products: Although I don't wear any Korean cosmetics and skin care products but I still appreciate them because I can see why many people like them. My cousin who likes to wear many Korean cosmetic products told me that Korean cosmetics are cheap but good in quality. And what my cousin said was true, that's why I noticed that many Korean cosmetics and skin care products are really popular in China nowadays.

Korean electronics: Korean electronics are cheap but good in quality, reliable, and easy to maintain. Although I think Japanese and American electronics are slightly better in quality, but I still think that Korean electronics are really good. I have Korean smartphone, air conditioner, and refrigerator at home and I love them all. I just love Korean electronics as much as I love Japanese and American electronics.

Korean pears: Korean pears are really tasty and fresh, Australian pears are also pretty good.

Korean snacks: Although I am not really a big fan of Korean food, but I like Korean snacks because many of them are tasty. I like Korean shrimp crackers and instant noodles the best.

Plus, I also would like to say congratulation to the Koreans for developing their country in a such a short period. By seeing how the Koreans developing their country in such a short period, I could see how hard working and determined the Koreans are. I think China should also learn from South Korea for the sake of China's development.

As for North Korea, I feel so sorry about North Korea. When I see the North Koreans have to suffer under the harsh rule of Kim regime, I feel so sorry for them, they don't deserve to suffer under such a harsh regime. I don't know whether Korea reunification will happen or not but I hope good things will come to Korea someday.

顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-12688744894512416222018-03-26T01:30:02.992+09:002018-03-26T01:30:02.992+09:00Right now I am watching 大長今 (Da Chang Jin in Manda...Right now I am watching 大長今 (Da Chang Jin in Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Dae Jang Geum in Korean pronounciation), a Korean drama series that I like since I was a teenager and I still like it until now.

Although I am not really keen on Korean drama series but I really like 大長今 because I find the series to be very well-made. 大長今 used to be very popular in China when I was a teenager, many Chinese people like that series and that series even becomes a personal favorite of former chairman 胡錦濤.

大長今 is a Korean drama series that talks about Korean culture, Korean history, and the perseverance of a woman named 長今 (Chang Jin in Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Jang Geum in Korean pronunciation). Ringo also deserved to be appreciated just as much as the other three Beatles members, his drumming suits the band so well.

I sometimes don't understand why Ringo is often being underestimated by many Beatles fans, Ringo is just as valuable as other three Beatles members too. When I listen to "Octopus Garden," I just can't help but laugh so hard because the song is just so funny.

Ringo's acting on "A Hard Day's Night" film also makes me laugh so hard, he is so funny there. 顺丽noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34942674.post-43345434325849657122017-12-31T18:40:57.167+09:002017-12-31T18:40:57.167+09:00I enjoyed your lists. The lyrics are complicated and instropective like which portrays John's inner mood at that time very well, the music is haunting and experimental which suits the song so well.

"Penny Lane" has the characteristics of Paul's songwriting. The lyrics are like storytelling and playful which portrays Paul's ability as a storyteller very well, the music is catchy and bouncy which suits the song so well.

Another songs that have John and Paul contrasts which I love are "Michelle" and "Girl."

"Michelle" is sweet and romantic, the lyrics and the French jazz like music suit the song very well. The song is about a man who falls in love with a girl and he confessed his love to that girl. I like this song when I was a child, I listened to this song for the first time when I was 6 years old.

"Girl" is bitter-sweet yet romantic, the lyrics and the Greek like music suit the song very well too. The song is about a man who has a complicated feelings for the girl that he loves. 顺丽noreply@blogger.com
